It was
all going so well and yet this week, I feel like I’ve fallen off the wagon a
bit. Last Thursday, Lucy and I went to the “Big Reunion” tour which made it’s
way to Nottingham. I make no excuse for having slightly rubbish taste in music.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of Macklemore and very often spend time
debating whether or not Dizzee Rascal can order a cup of tea without doing it
in a sing song voice, but my I Pod is full of the likes of Bros (I’m still in
love with Matt), Blue, 5 and New Kids on the Block.
Imagine my excitement when “The Big Reunion”
first aired, there was no way I wasn’t going to see the show. I think my
excitement of being reunited with Duncan from Blue after many years went to my
head!
Me & Duncan from Blue in 2004 |
Our ticket price included a meal, not just
any meal, but a buffet! I find buffet’s the work of the anti-slinky devil,
because there’s something about miniature and random mixtures of food that
drive me crazy! At home I would never think it was a good idea to have a cheese
sandwich accompanied by a samosa and a handful of roasted peanuts, but somehow
when it’s on a buffet, it seems like a taste sensation!
I did my best trying to avoid anything fried
or in pastry, instead filling my plate with salad and other “free” stuff, I
even stepped away from the buffet so I couldn’t pick anything else up. However what
I didn’t count on was the fact that somebody put the cheesecake in my line of
vision! I swear at one point I heard the voice of Jiminy Cricket – “one slice
wont hurt Katie” versus “don’t do it Katie, you’ll regret it when you’re not
slinky by Tuesday” sadly on this occasion the lure of the cheesecake was too
great and not only was I reunited with Duncan from Blue, but also a bloody
great slice of cheesecake.
Not actual cheesecake, not even I could eat all of this! |
I’d really like to tell you that I felt bad
for eating it, but the truth is, I didn’t! I enjoyed every single mouthful of
it, I can’t remember the last time I had cheesecake, it was definitely P.S.B.T (pre-
slinky by Tuesday) Still as Oscar Wilde once said “I can resist anything, but
temptation”
If you look closely, you'll see it's the 4 members of 5 |
It's Duncan from Blue, honestly |
